Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns: The Only Choice For WWE SummerSlam?

In my newest column for 411Mania, I discussed the possibility of Cody Rhodes being the person to dethrone Roman Reigns.

Of course, there are a lot of potential directions WWE could go in with this scenario, but the most glaring thing is that this may be the only scenario for WWE at SummerSlam.

The reason? There are few other superstars who are perceived to be on the same level as Reigns. At one point, that was a good thing. Now, that may be more of a hindrance due to the lack of believable storylines moving forward.

What do know is that Cody’s stock has never been higher.

His WrestleMania 38 return was about as well-executed as it gets, and as I write about in the column, the week-to-week booking will determine how believable of a contender Cody would be for Reigns.

Most of the discussion focuses on the possibility of Cody defeating Reigns in a match, though I purposefully left out what it would mean for the title situation.

The most predictable sequence would be for Cody to beat Reigns for the WWE title, bring it back to Raw, and thus begin the potential downfall for Reigns with the Universal title. He would realize he’s not invincible, and as for who would dethrone him for that title, there’s no clear option at this point.

But instead of writing another column, you can decide what you think about the Reigns dilemma (as I dubbed it) and whether Cody is the best choice for being the first person to pin him in two years.
